I decided to back down to one table for this session just to change things up a little bit, and I chose the right time. I found myself at a table with crazy LAGs moving in and out of it often enough that I really needed to pay attention to who was who. This resulted in a nice solid up session. It also helped that I picked up good hands.
Hand 1: This was a planned calldown against a completely erratic player. I was ready to see the showdown as soon as I saw it would be heads up.
Preflop: Hero is BB with 4d, Ah.
1 fold, MP raises, 2 folds, Hero calls.
Flop: (4.50 SB) 7h, 9s, 8h (2 players)
Hero checks, MP checks.
Turn: (2.25 BB) 2h (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls.
River: (4.25 BB) 8s (2 players)
Hero checks, MP checks.
Results:
Hero has 4d Ah (one pair, eights).
MP has 3c Jc (one pair, eights).
Hand 2: The turn bet was likely a value bet. I probably would have check-called the river UI because villain might be more inclined to bluff than to pay off with a weak hand.
Preflop: Hero is UTG with Jd, As.
Hero raises, 1 fold, CO calls, 3 folds.
Flop: (5.50 SB) 9h, Qc, 9c (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.
Turn: (3.75 BB) 2c (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.
River: (5.75 BB) Js (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.
Results:
Hero has Jd As (two pair, jacks and nines).
CO has 4s Ac (one pair, nines).
Hand 3: Villain was pretty aggro preflop and always c-bet when he raised. I really should have bet-folded the river instead of planning to check-call. I don't know why I do that sometimes.
Preflop: Hero is SB with Tc, Kc. CO posts a blind of $1.
UTG calls, MP raises, CO (poster) calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, BB calls, UTG calls.
Flop: (10 SB) Ac, 8d, Ks (5 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP bets, CO folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG folds, MP folds.
Turn: (7.50 BB) 4s (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.
River: (9.50 BB) 2s (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.
Results:
Hero has Tc Kc (one pair, kings).
BB has Qc Qh (one pair, queens).
