After a full two weeks of not playing poker, I have finally found some time to play a few hands. It was a high variance day, starting off by taking a huge hit and then coming back thanks to an aggro-LAG who sat down at the table (and good cards).
Hand 1: I'm very surprised by the hands that got shown down here. I don't know if I like raising or folding more on this flop. Calling feels like it cannot possibly be right.
Preflop: Hero is BB with Ac, Ks.
1 fold, MP raises, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, MP caps, CO calls, SB calls, Hero calls.
Flop: (16 SB) Td, 2h, 7d (4 players)
SB bets, Hero folds, MP raises, CO folds, SB calls.
Turn: (10 BB) 8c (2 players)
SB bets, MP calls.
River: (12 BB) 5c (2 players)
SB checks, MP checks.
Results:
SB has 3d 9d (high card, ten).
MP has 6d 6h (one pair, sixes).
Hand 2: Here's a hand that I had against the aggro player. I wasn't yet sure how aggro he was, and I used this hand to find out.
Preflop: Hero is BB with 7s, 6s.
UTG raises, 1 fold, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero calls.
Flop: (6.50 SB) 7d, 5h, Jh (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, CO folds, Hero calls.
Turn: (4.25 BB) 9d (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.
River: (6.25 BB) Jc (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.
Results:
Hero has 7s 6s (two pair, jacks and sevens).
UTG has Tc Ac (one pair, jacks).
Hand 3: I probably should have check-raised the turn here. If he was on a draw, he would have paid me off, but he might not have paid me off on the river. Fortunately, he did.
Preflop: Hero is MP with Qs, Ks.
1 fold, Hero raises, Button 3-bets, 2 folds, Hero calls.
Flop: (7.50 SB) 2s, 4c, 6c (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.
Turn: (4.75 BB) Qh (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.
River: (6.75 BB) Tc (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button calls.
Results:
Hero has Qs Ks (one pair, queens).
Button has 8s 8h (one pair, eights).
Hand 4: One more against the LAG. I wasn't sure if he would call on the end if he missed his one card club draw, but I was pretty sure he was going to bet if I checked. I like players who lack the discipline to check behind with their weak hands.
Preflop: Hero is SB with 9s, Jd.
4 folds, Hero raises, BB calls.
Flop: (4 SB) 5c, As, Tc (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.
Turn: (3 BB) 9c (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.
River: (5 BB) Ad (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Hero calls.
Results:
Hero has 9s Jd (two pair, aces and nines).
BB has Ks 5s (two pair, aces and fives).
Hand 5: On the river, I hated bet-folding less than I hated betting, so I bet.
Preflop: Hero is BB with Ks, Jh.
2 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero raises, CO calls, SB calls.
Flop: (6 SB) 7d, Qd, Kd (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB calls.
Turn: (4.50 BB) 8d (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB folds.
River: (6.50 BB) 5h (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.
Results:
Hero has Ks Jh (one pair, kings).
CO has 3s 3h (one pair, threes).
Hand 6: Villain was very passive and seemed to be calling the flop a lot. The turn bet was going to be the last bet I put in, but then I improved. I still think most of his hand range consists of hands that are worse than mine, but sometimes a value bet gets called by a better hand.
Preflop: Hero is Button with Td, 9h.
2 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold.
Flop: (5 SB) 7c, 2d, 5s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.
Turn: (3.50 BB) Jh (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.
River: (5.50 BB) Tc (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.
Results:
SB has Js Qc (one pair, jacks).
Hero has Td 9h (one pair, tens).
