Day 38-4: +$108.50 (+27 BB at $2/4)

Level: +$118.50 in 277 table minutes (+30 BB at $2/4)
Overall: +$425.40 in 5246 table minutes

Variance -- the great un-equalizer. Fortunately for me, I got the happy side of variance in my second session (one tabling). Some of it was simply due to playing against really bad and/or really aggressive players (plus, I got lucky a few times). I'll spend my hand posts highlighting the hands that amuse me the most.

Hand 1: I can't believe how badly he overplayed his hand. His river raise on the paired/flushed board is incredibly bad. Lucky for him, the board was paired and I didn't 3-bet him.

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ac, Jc.
1 fold, MP calls, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, MP calls, CO calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 5c, 4c, 3s (3 players)
Hero bets, MP folds, CO calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 3c (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO caps, Hero calls.

River: (12.25 BB) Qd (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls.

Results:
Hero has Ac Jc (flush, ace high).
CO has 7s 6s (straight, seven high).

Hand 2: I had picked up a run of cards, and probably raised the last 4 hands, and I guess this villain decided to take a stand. The lesson here is that it's okay to play your trips fast. I doubt I would have had as much action if I waited for the turn. Granted, this villain was way over the top, but it would still be incredibly hard for him to put in two extra losing bets against a turn check-raise or something like that.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Qc, Jc.
Hero raises, 1 fold, CO 3-bets, 2 folds, BB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) Qd, Qh, Th (3 players)

BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets, BB folds, Hero raises, CO 3-bets, Hero caps, CO calls.

Turn: (8.75 BB) 6s (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls.

River: (12.75 BB) 8c (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls.

Results:
Hero has Qc Jc (three of a kind, queens).
CO has Ah 8s (two pair, queens and eights).

Hand 3: This is why you shouldn't bet-call when you play WA/WB. If he wanted to showdown his hand, he should have check-called the river.

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7s, Ah.
3 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) Ac, 6d, 7d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) 7h (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (5.25 BB) 8d (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Results:
BB has As 5s (two pair, aces and sevens).
Hero has 7s Ah (full house, sevens full of aces).

Hand 4: Villain's bet into the flop capper is pretty crazy.

Preflop: Hero is Button with Tc, Td.
2 folds, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, BB caps, CO calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (12.50 SB) Th, 2s, 4d (3 players)

BB bets, CO calls, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, CO calls, Hero caps, BB calls, CO calls.

Turn: (12.25 BB) Jh (3 players)
BB bets, CO folds, Hero raises, BB calls.

River: (16.25 BB) 4c (2 players)

BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Results:
BB has Ah Ad (two pair, aces and fours).
Hero has Tc Td (full house, tens full of fours).

Hand 5: I was only going to call preflop, but with the presence of two extra players, I decided to make a nice fat pot instead. I'm impressed by MP's calldown. It's hard to imagine a capping range where 99 is ahead often enough to make it a good call. If I have AA-JJ, AQ+, AJs, and KQ+, AND if I'm going to go nuts with those hands on all 4 streets, then he beats AJ (4) and loses to AA (6), KK (3), QQ (3), JJ (6), AK (12), AQ (12), and KQ (9) [total = 51 hands]. At 14:1, that's a good call. However, by taking away a single AJ hand he's losing a lot.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Qh, Kh.
Hero raises, MP 3-bets, Button calls, SB calls, 1 fold, Hero caps, MP calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Flop: (17 SB) 5s, Kd, 3h (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: (10.50 BB) 2h (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP calls, Button folds, SB folds.

River: (12.50 BB) Qc (2 players)
Hero bets, MP calls.

Results:
Hero has Qh Kh (two pair, kings and queens).
MP has 9c 9s (one pair, nines).
